Austin is our primary growth market in Texas, and the reason is straightforward: the metro keeps adding practices faster than it adds available clinicians. When a hygienist calls out in Cedar Park on a Tuesday, the office manager is competing with every other practice in the corridor for the same handful of temps.
What Oasis actually does here
You post the shift with the date, hours, role, and what you're paying. The alert goes out immediately to matching professionals in the area, and they apply from their phone. You see their rate, their credentials, and their rating from previous offices, then confirm the one you want.
There's no account manager in between, no voicemail, and no markup buried in the professional's hourly rate. You pay them directly at the rate you agreed on, plus a flat daily placement fee to Oasis: $150 for a dentist, $60 for a hygienist, or $50 for an assistant. There's a one-time onboarding fee when you join, and no monthly subscription.
Coverage across Central Texas
The Austin network reaches well past the city core. We staff practices in Central, North, and South Austin, and out through Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Pflugerville, and Georgetown to the north, Lakeway to the west, and Kyle, Buda, and San Marcos to the south.
Professionals set their own travel radius, so a practice in Georgetown is drawing from a different slice of the network than one on South Lamar. Both are covered, but the suburbs generally reward posting a little further ahead.
Temp, temp-to-hire, and permanent
Texas practices use all three, and this is where Austin differs from our Charleston market:
- Temp coverage. Sick days, PTO, CE, conferences, and the stretch where someone's out on leave.
- Temp-to-hire. Work with someone for a few days before either side commits. It has a high success rate for the simple reason that you've already seen how they run a column and talk to your patients.
- Permanent recruiting. Available in Texas. Fit varies by role and by where you are in the metro, so we start with a 30-minute call rather than a quote.
If you'd rather run a permanent search yourself, our job board puts a listing in front of active candidates for $99 over 30 days.
For dental professionals in Austin
Austin is a good market to temp in precisely because it's still growing. Shift volume is building, and there's less competition for each posting than in a saturated market.
You set your own rate instead of being handed one. You choose which offices you return to and which you quietly don't. You can block out a week without asking a manager for time off, because your availability is simply yours to set.
Dentists and hygienists are activated as soon as credentials are verified. Dental assistants have their profile reviewed first, and we ask for at least three years of chairside experience.

Practices can post a shift or book a call. Dental professionals can create a profile and see what's posting near them.

Austin dental staffing FAQ
- Do you staff dental offices in Austin?
- Yes. Austin is an active and growing market for us, covering dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants. We staff practices across Central Austin and the surrounding suburbs, including Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Leander, Lakeway, Kyle, Buda, and San Marcos.
- Can you help with permanent hires in Austin, or only temp?
- Both. Unlike South Carolina, Texas is a market where we offer permanent recruiting alongside temp and temp-to-hire. Permanent fit varies by role and location, so we start with a 30-minute call. For temp coverage, you can post a shift in the app without talking to anyone first.
- How is this different from calling a traditional Austin temp agency?
- You post the shift yourself and see applicants directly, rather than leaving a voicemail and waiting for a callback. You see each professional's rate and their rating from previous offices before you confirm. You pay the professional directly at the agreed rate plus a flat daily fee to us, so there's no hidden markup on their hourly.
- Are Austin professionals license-verified?
- Yes. Dentists and dental hygienists have their credentials verified before their account is activated. Dental assistants have their profile reviewed and bring at least three years of chairside experience.
- I'm a hygienist in Austin. Is there enough shift volume to be worth it?
- Austin is growing rather than saturated, which cuts both ways: there's less competition for the shifts that post, and volume is still building. A lot of Austin hygienists start by picking up shifts around an existing schedule rather than going all-in. Creating a profile is free, and you'll see what's actually posting in your area before you commit to anything.
